Data Breach

Manufacturer of live event solutions reveals a security incident

On June 11, 2020, US-based Tait Towers Manufacturing LLC (TAIT), a manufacturing company that specializes in solutions for live events, disclosed a data breach. The threat actors may have compromised some individuals' names, addresses, email addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, or financial account numbers.

The Incident

The attack was discovered on April 6, 2020. The unauthorized user(s) had accessed one of TAIT’s servers and the email accounts of certain employees. With the help of a third-party cybersecurity expert, TAIT took its servers and IT systems offline and launched an investigation. The investigation has so far revealed that the unauthorized access began on February 16, 2020. After the attack, TAIT revamped its security measures and reset the login credentials for its servers and email accounts. The company has also added multi-factor authentication and implemented endpoint monitoring systems.

TAIT has instructed affected customers to review their financial account statements for any unauthorized activity. The firm is also offering credit monitoring free of cost to the affected individuals.
