DeviceExpert is a comprehensive Network Change and Configuration Management (NCCM) solution that enables the Network Administrators to manage the configurations of Network Devices such as switches, routers, firewalls and others from multiple vendors. DeviceExpert 4.1 provides  network administrators the ability to define access control policies for other network operators managing the devices. It also provides them the control to approve the configuration changes made by operators before they are applied to the device.

Highlights of DeviceExpert 4.1 include:

  • Role-based User Access Control
  • Disaster recovery for DeviceExpert database
  • Managing Devices present outside private network
  • Search in Device Configuration

"AdventNet Device Expert has proven a very useful tool for Federal Signal, Inc. in managing equipment from multiple vendors across multiple geographic locations," said Larry Ware of Federal Signal Global Network Boffin, Ocala Data Center. "It has allowed us to effectively manage remote device configurations and implement effective change control for network infrastructure", he added.

"Taking control of the network configuration changes is the primary challenge faced by today's network administrators, given the breadth and complexity of the devices that are part of the network. Even a minor configuration error could cause network downtime that directly affects business continuity," said T. Subramanian, Product Manager at AdventNet. "With the latest version of DeviceExpert, network administrators of large, small & medium enterprises are better equipped to face this challenge", he added.

Apart from offering multi-vendor network device configuration, DeviceExpert provides notifications on configuration changes, side-by-side comparison of altered configuration, detailed operation audit and trails, easy and safe recovery to trusted configurations, automation of configuration tasks, templates for commonly used configurations and insightful reporting.
