Vulnerability Database not getting updated - "Update of latest patch information failed : Stream closed"

Problem

Vulnerability Patch DB Update fails with error message -"Update of latest patch information failed : Stream closed".

Cause

One possible reason could be that the proxy server is blocking the data as,

  1. You are using a version older than 80232, which means your 'Patch Database' is not up-to-date.
  2. The proxy server credentials given in the Proxy Server settings is no longer valid.
  3. The proxy server does not allow communication through port 443.

Resolution

  1. Upgrade to the latest version of the product server, since Patch Database has been updated.
  2. Reconfigure the proxy server by specifying a valid credential.
  3. Open port 443 to allow the proxy server to communicate.
  4. Add patchdb.manageengine.com to the exception list of your proxy server

Note: Ensure that you allow the usage of .7z, .gz and .sql files to download the essential files for successful patch scanning.
